In accordance with EU regulations, Alicante-Elche Miguel Hernández Airport is fully compliant when providing services for travellers with disabilities or reduced mobility. The airport also offers free special assistance where required.
Travellers with a disability or with limited mobility are requested to contact their airline in advance, normally with 48 hours’ notice.
Codes
WCHC – Wheelchair-bound passengers who require assistance throughout their passage through the airport. They will also require accompanying if the journey is more than three hours.
WCHR – Passengers who need assistance to and from the aircraft but can move around unaided once on-board.
WCHS – Passengers who require assistance getting to the terminal or boarding but are self-sufficient once inside the aircraft.
DEAF – Passengers with hearing disabilities.
BLIND – Passengers with visual disabilities.
How to Request Assistance
Notify your airline, tour operator or travel agent of your requirements at least 48 hours before travelling or at the time of purchasing your ticket.

For people with hearing loss and/or a speech impairment, AENA operates a special information and customer service line that is available from 7am to 12 midnight every day.

Go to Meeting Point
For departures from Alicante-Elche Miguel Hernández Airport, it is recommended that you arrive at the airport at least two and a half hours before your scheduled departure time.
If no specific meeting point has been agreed with you when you arrive at the airport at the pre-arranged time, go to one of the intercoms located throughout the airport (locations can be found on www.aena.es) to report your arrival.
A member of the team will come and meet you and offer assistance.
Checking-In and Boarding
A member of the team will assist you at check-in and through security, and help you to board the aircraft. They will also assist you with your luggage and any personal needs if required.
Arriving at Alicante-Elche Airport
You will be assisted to disembark and retrieve your luggage, and be accompanied to a meeting point within the airport.
