Hand Luggage
If you are just travelling with hand luggage, be aware that there are maximum weight and size restrictions, so you should check with your airline to find out which apply to your trip.
Items that are not allowed in hand luggage, apart from the obvious such as firearms, knives or anything else that could be regarded as a weapon, can be found here.
If you need to take medication on your journey, make sure you have the necessary dosage for the duration. When carrying medical utensils such as syringes for diabetics, measurement apparatus, etc., it is advisable to inform your airline beforehand, so they can inform you what procedure to follow.
In all these cases, it is recommended that you have a medical prescription, certificate or other relevant document in order to facilitate the security screening.

Alicante-Elche Miguel Hernández Airport has a range of special rooms available for receptions and presentations, press conferences, training courses, and business conventions and meetings.
These include a boardroom and two meeting rooms located on the third floor in the Public Offices Zone and Restricted Offices Zone; a multi-purpose room in the Arrivals Hall (Floor 0); and two training rooms in the Warehouse Building. Multimedia presentation devices available (depending on the room) include computers, screens, projectors, DVD players, computer stations, PA space, sound system, audio outputs, presentation table and reception desk.

VAT Refund
Offices for non-EU residents wanting to apply for tax rebates on their purchases in Spain are available in the Arrivals Hall on Floor 0.
VIP Lounge
The Costa Blanca VIP lounge is located on the third floor in the Boarding Zone. Its opening hours are 5am to 9pm.
Services available in the VIP lounge include drinks and refreshments (covering kosher, halal, gluten-free and diabetic products), air traffic information, TV, magazines and newspapers. There is a work area with computer equipment, network adapters, printer, telephone, fax and free Wi-Fi throughout.
In addition, the lounge provides disabled access, a children’s play area with fun games, and a glassed-in room for meetings. Animals are allowed – but not smoking.
Access is for:
- Holders of business-class tickets from associated airlines.
- Holders of associated club cards.
- Any passenger paying with a card at the access desk.

Families
Services for families, to make their airport stay more convenient and enjoyable, include children’s play areas, baby rooms and push chair/strollers.
Play areas are located in the Boarding Zone and near the luggage reclaim carousels.
Changing stations on the first floor and Floor 0 are equipped for changing nappies; and there are children’s toilet areas within all toilets around the terminal.
Located on the second floor in the Boarding Zone, the lactation room comprises a lounge area with armchairs, microwaves, coat racks, changing rooms, toilets, and books and paints for children.
A free push chair loan service is provided in the luggage reclaim area.
Medical Care
Alicante-Elche Miguel Hernández Airport is equipped with a First Aid point in the Arrivals Hall (Floor 0), and 14 Heart Rescue Points with defibrillators distributed throughout the terminal building – as shown on the airport map.
Aena Information Services
There are two information desks available in the Departures Hall and Boarding Zone on the second floor, as well as a mobile information service based in the Arrivals area during the busiest times of the day.
