A ranking of Europe’s most highly rated international airports includes Alicante-Elche Miguel Hernández Airport in its top-10 – and the best in mainland Spain.
According to holiday rental website Holidu, a survey based on opinions and valuations compiled from Google reviews determined that Alicante-Elche was sixth among European international airports, and third in Spain when non-international airports were also taken into account.
The top two ranked airports in Spain were El Hierro and La Gomera in the Canary Islands, while Istanbul led the way in Europe.
Meanwhile, Alicante-Elche Miguel Hernández Airport director Laura Navarro travelled to Incheon (South Korea) to attend a gala dinner for recipients of this year’s Airports Council International (ACI) awards.
In March, Alicante-Elche was named as the “Best Airport in Europe” in the category for annual passenger totals between 15 and 25 million.
Later in the year, the airport also received the “Best Accessible Airport” award during the annual ACI presentation ceremony in Barcelona.
The ACI Customer Experience Global Summit in South Korea attracted more than 500 senior airport executives. The awards focus on customer experience, and the ratings are determined by passengers in ASQ (Airport Service Quality Program) surveys compiled by ACI.
