Levante beach and Poniente beach in Benidorm
Benidorm is one of the most popular holiday destinations in Alicante and is well-known for its fantastic nightlife as well as entertainment for all ages. It is also home to two fabulous Blue Flag beaches, Levante and Poniente. Poniente is perfect for families and is renowned for its fine sands and laidback vibe. This huge crescent of golden sand also features a beautiful promenade filled with shops, bars, cafés and restaurants.
Levante is known as the sunrise beach, stretching for over two kilometres of sun-soaked sand and calm waters. The beach is also close to the promenade of cafés, bars and other establishments. Levante beach is family-friendly, although it is also quite popular and close to the city so it can get busy quickly. Nevertheless, this stunning beach is still worth a visit, with plenty to do including exciting water sports such as jet skiing, water skiing and much more.
El Postiguet beach
El Postiguet (Playa del Postiguet) is a lively beach that is very close to the city, making it easily accessible if you are staying nearby. Close to the Old Quarter of Alicante, El Postiguet is one of Alicante’s most well-known beaches. It is found at the foot of the great ninth century Santa Bárbara castle and is also renowned for its glorious golden sands. The beach is family-friendly and has Blue Flag status and the SICTED tourist quality mark. Being close to the city means there is plenty of parking space nearby, making it even easier to visit.
Playa de los Saladares
Playa de los Saladares (also known as Urbanova beach) is one of the longest beaches on the southern coastline of Alicante. Despite its size, this beach is not as well-known as some of the other beaches in Alicante. This does, however, mean that Playa de los Saladares is not as busy as some of the others thanks to its residential location, making it a great destination if you want more peace and quiet. There are still plenty of services available, including shops, restaurants, toilets and foot showers. It is also another one of the many Blue Flag beaches in Alicante.
