Alicante-Elche Miguel Hernández Airport has inaugurated a new open-air lounge terrace for passengers, offering views of the runway and a space for smokers.
Located in the boarding area, at the corner of the terminal building, the terrace has been specially designed to enhance the terminal waiting experience for passengers, according to the airport authority (Aena).
The terrace covers an area of 130 square metres, as an extension of Budweiser’s existing pub-style premises (also offering meals).
It is elevated above the aircraft parking platform and is equipped with large windows to provide excellent visibility and enable passengers to view aircraft landing and taking off, with a backdrop of the Mediterranean Sea. Awnings have been incorporated to offer protection against the sun, especially during the summer season.
The new terrace is the only area in the airport’s boarding area suitable for smokers.
