Ryanair has launched a new route between Alicante-Elche Miguel Hernández Airport and Zagreb in Croatia. Officially inaugurated this month, the flights will be operated twice-weekly (Tuesdays and Saturdays) using Airbus A320 aircraft with capacity for 180 passengers.
To mark the occasion, Ryanair prepared a special table of sweets, fruits and juices for the first passengers to enjoy.
Zagreb is one of nine new routes that Ryanair is operating to and from Alicante-Elche Airport this summer season – also including Barcelona, Budapest, Cardiff, Katowice, Münster, Norwich, Rzeszów and Sofia.
“As Alicante’s number one airline,” said country manager for Spain Elena Cabrera, “Ryanair is delighted to operate the first flight on our new summer route from Alicante to Zagreb. Zagreb is a beautiful city in the heart of Croatia, with the perfect blend of historic elegance and vibrant modernity. It is a city where history, culture and gastronomy coexist, making it perfect for a summer getaway.
“This summer Ryanair will operate 90 routes to and from Alicante-Elche Airport, including our new route to Zagreb, providing our customers in the Alicante region with a wide choice of destinations at the lowest prices. These exciting new routes are now available to book on Ryanair.com.”
The summer route between Alicante and Katowice (Poland) – previously operated by Ryanair from 2013 to 2015 – was re-opened on 5 Abril, with weekly flights scheduled every Friday.
In addition to Katowice, Ryanair operates eight other direct routes to Poland, connecting Alicante-Elche with Wrocław, Kraków, Gdańsk, Łódź, Poznań, Rzeszów, Warsaw Chopin and Warsaw Modlin.
