The vast diversity of Alicante’s attractions for tourists is highlighted in a new ranking published by Aladinia. The travel experiences website compiled a list of users’ most highly-valued experiences throughout Spain (those that secured between 9.8 and 10 points) – and Alicante featured in the national ranking with two significantly contrasting activities: bungee jumping and a spa circuit with Thai massage.
The first is located in Alcoy, in the central-northern part of Alicante province. According to a news release from Aladinia announcing details of its ranking, “The activity consists of a pendulum jump while attached to the bridge by means of a harness. You jump from one side of the bridge while the rope is anchored on the other.
“Although the moment of the jump lasts only a few seconds, the sensation experienced by the body is one of the most intense that can be felt and the memory will last a lifetime.”
Before the bungee jump, which costs €35, a specialised monitor from the Multiaventura Charm company in Alcoy explains all the guidelines to follow “so that the experience is a 10, with tips to relax and feel safe”. More details available here.
The second experience is a spa circuit for two at Benicaldea Thai Massage & Spa in Benidorm.
Described as the first urban spa in Spain and the largest in Benidorm, Benicaldea is located in the Ambassador Playa Hotel.
The wellness centre offers clients the opportunity to “relax body and mind by applying all the latest technologies and advances in the world of spas”.
Its facilities include hot pools (at around 34°C), with jets, waterfalls and whirlpools, a toning pool, an ice patio with an icy pool at 7°C, a Turkish sauna, Finnish saunas, thermal beds, bithermal showers, a chill-out bar, and a sports area equipped with a complete gym.
Authentic Thai massages are carried out by expert therapists “who will make your chosen massage a healthy and pleasurable experience”. You can choose between a Thai massage with oil, a Thai Ayurveda massage, a Thai Balinese massage or a Thai Lomi Lomi massage. The experience (details here) costs €55 per person.
