Two thrill-seeking attractions in Alicante province have made a list of Spain’s top hotel water slides. Compiled by Holidayguru, the ranking includes Magic Robin Hood in Alicante at number two and Magic Aqua Rock Garden (Benidorm) in fourth place – out of seven listed by the travel portal.
Described as “Europe’s first mediaeval resort”, Magic Robin Hood is located in L’Albir, a 40-minute drive from Alicante-Elche Airport and about seven kilometres from Benidorm. The hotel’s water park includes features based on the adventures of Robin Hood, including the Waterplay, Splash, Dragon’s Race Lagoon pool and “notorious” Locksley’s Lagoon.
The Magic Aqua Rock Garden hotel has an African theme, and is just five minutes from Benidorm’s Levante beach area. Its African Emotion water park includes the Aqua-Tube, Aqua-Splash and Kamikazes slides, as well as a wet bar where guests can enjoy a soft-drink or cocktail without getting out of the water.
Ranked number one is Alegría Costa Ballena in Rota on the Costa de la Luz (Andalucía). Re-opened in 2020, the ship-shaped hotel is located near one of Cádiz province’s most attractive beaches. Its water park, the Aquafun Costa Ballena, offers families seven toboggans more than nine metres high, in a 7,000 square metre complex that also includes pools for all members of the family and other water attractions.
Completing the podium is Rosamar Garden Resort on Cataluña’s Costa Brava. Just 300 metres from Lloret de Mar beach, the hotel has four swimming pools, a toboggan area, a multi-track slide, and a pirate boat offering an “authentic buccaneer experience” for children.
