Jet2.com and Jet2holidays customers have been given the chance to win back the price of their flights or getaway in a special prize draw.
The “leading leisure airline and UK’s largest tour operator” are offering a total of £100,000 in refunds for passengers and holidaymakers who purchase travel insurance when they book a new flight or holiday or add it on to an existing booking.
To be eligible, clients are required to purchase travel insurance directly through Jet2.com or Jet2holidays (excluding www.jet2insurance.com) before 16 June, and their name will then be entered automatically into a prize draw to win back the price of their flight or holiday.
According to the sister Jet2 companies, their travel insurance product is five-star rated by Defaqto, “making it one of the most comprehensive on the market and offering customers the highest level of protection against the unexpected while on holiday”.
In addition to providing cancellation and medical cover, the insurance also provides:
- Free cover for children with every adult policy purchased
- Up to £10m medical, £5,000 cancellation and £2,000 baggage cover
- Over 200 common pre-existing medical conditions covered at no extra cost
- Cancellation and medical cover if diagnosed with COVID-19 within 14 days of departure, as well as while customers are abroad
“We are delighted to be launching this fantastic prize draw,” said Jet2.com and Jet2holidays CEO Steve Heapy. “Travel insurance is not just to cover for things that happen on holiday, so we always encourage customers to take out travel insurance as soon as they book. This will ensure their whole trip is covered from the time of booking, providing reassurance should the worst happen. As well as being able to win back the price of their flights or holiday when purchasing travel insurance, in just a few simple clicks, customers can be safe in the knowledge they are protected against the unexpected, thanks to this prize draw.”
Anniversary Celebrations in Alicante
After earlier this year celebrating the inauguration of its first flight in Europe, Jet.com has now marked the 20th anniversary of its operations at Alicante-Elche Miguel Hernández Airport.
The first Jet2.com flight landed in Alicante from Leeds Bradford Airport on 19 May 2003, and over the past two decades, also including Jet2holidays tourists, nearly 10 million customers have travelled to the popular Costa Blanca destination.
Today, the companies offer services to Alicante from 10 of their UK bases (Belfast International, Birmingham, Bristol, Edinburgh, East Midlands, Glasgow, Leeds Bradford, Manchester, Newcastle International and London Stansted), with over 800,000 seats on sale this summer. In addition, Jet2holidays has more than 80 hotels on sale for summer 23 at five resorts: Benidorm, Calpe, Alicante city, Albir and Altea.
New Alicante Route from Liverpool
Jet2.com has also announced that the summer 2024 schedule from its new Liverpool John Lennon Airport base will include flights to Alicante. The service is due to start on 28 March 2024, “perfectly timed for the Easter holidays”. There will be up to four weekly services linking Liverpool and Alicante: on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays.
“We are absolutely delighted to be expanding our award-winning flights and holidays to Liverpool John Lennon Airport, which becomes our 11th UK airport base,” said Heapy. “This announcement further expands our footprint and comes on the back of the enormous demand that we know is out there from customers and independent travel agents across Liverpool, Merseyside and the wider region… and we look forward to showcasing our VIP customer service to holidaymakers from Liverpool John Lennon Airport and delighting them with our product.”
