Benidorm once again takes centre-stage this summer with a diverse schedule of summer music festivals. Revellers visiting the Costa Blanca’s renowned party town will be able to enjoy their favourite sounds, from top alternative rock bands and international DJs to bachata, salsa and reggaeton.
Other top festivals are being held in the northern part of the Valencia region, in Castellón province, a convenient two-hour drive from Alicante-Elche Miguel Hernández Airport.
Here are some of the main music events this year:
Benidorm Summer Festival – 29 June-9 July
Attracting thousands of international visits every year, the Benidorm Summer Festival offers a combination of music, culture and entertainment.
Both the Bachata Congress (29 June-5 July) and the Salsa Congress (3-9 July) will take place at the Grand Hotel Luxor, offering attendees an immersive experience in these dance styles and encouraging learning, fun and interaction with other enthusiasts. According to the organisers, this is an excellent opportunity “to improve your dancing skills, meet talented dancers from all over the world and enjoy a lively and festive atmosphere”.
Reggaeton Beach Festival – 8-9 July
For those who like urban music and Latin rhythms, the fourth edition of the Reggaeton Beach Festival will be held on July 8 and 9. Last year the event attracted 25,000 people on each of its two days, making it the largest urban music festival in Europe and one of the top global events for reggaeton lovers.
Low Festival – 28-30 July
Twenty thousand “lowers” are expected to converge on Benidorm when the annual Low Festival is held from Friday 29 July to Sunday 30 July at the Ciudad Deportiva Guillermo Amor. Season, day and VIP POOL tickets are on sale at lowfestival.es.
Interpol will be headlining on Friday, with Viva Suecia, The Vaccines and Gusgus; Placebo are performing on Saturday, backed by Lori Meyers and Django Django; and Vetusta Morla, Bombay Bicycle Club and Deluxe will be on the main stage on Sunday.
Other Regional Festivals
Elsewhere in the Valencia region (Alicante is its southernmost province), music lovers can enjoy several other music festivals this summer, including these three major international events:
Festival Internacional de Benicàssim (FIB) – from 13 to 16 July in Benicàssim (Castellón), headlined by The Offspring and Kaiser Chiefs.
Arenal Sound – from 1 to 6 August in Burriana (Castellón)
Rototom Sunsplash European Reggae Festival – from 16 to 22 August in Benicasim (Castellón)
