This year’s Valencia Boat Show will be 100 per cent virtual as the region (which includes Alicante province) aims to showcase its status as an innovative epicentre of international sailing.
The boating showcase will be held on the same dates as the traditional physical event, from 28 October to 1 November, and will also be based at La Marina de Valencia. This historic dock area will be recreated virtually to house interactive stands, digital meetings, talks, presentations and networking areas. The website will also bring together nautical offers via a marketplace providing links to individual web pages.
La Marina de Valencia and the Unión de Empresas Náuticas (UEN), co-organisers of the Valencia Boat Show, have joined Grupo Alfatec, a leading technology and digital development company in Valencia, to host this unprecedented nautical event.
The aim, say the organisers, is to “not only contribute to the revival of the nautical sector, propelling it to a leap in quality through the digitisation of companies, but once again place Valencia at the epicentre of sailing worldwide and at the forefront of innovation in the sector.
“In the wake of the COVID-19 coronavirus crisis that leaves some doubt as to the viability of a physical show, the Valencia Boat Show has taken the initiative to reinvent itself as the first completely virtual boat show. One of the main attractions of this new event is the guarantee of it being held, regardless of external factors such as the health situation or the weather, and its capacity to function in combination with a physical exhibition.”
Latest technological advances will be showcased at the virtual exhibition, highlighted by interactive stands customisable with the brand image of the companies, a marketplace specialised in yachting, virtual visits to boats with cutting-edge technology trends such as 360-degree tours, Matterport, 3D plans and virtual assistants.
According to the organisers, the advantages of holding a virtual boat show include the possibility of reaching a completely personalised audience based on the profiles of potential customers, as well as expanding the public worldwide. The show will connect clients with brand agents located anywhere in the world, depending on the virtual visitor’s origin.
La Marina de Valencia is a convenient 172-kilometre drive (under two hours) for boating enthusiasts arriving at Alicante-Elche Airport and renting a car for the trip north along the Mediterranean coast.
