Condor has inaugurated a new route linking Alicante-Elche Miguel Hernández Airport three times a week with Frankfurt. The launch marks a long-awaited return by the German airline, which last operated flights at the Spanish airport in 2008.
Condor’s summer schedule includes flights on Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays, on Airbus 320 and 321 aircraft with capacity for 180 and 220 passengers, respectively.
Meanwhile, for tourists from the UK, Jet2.com has boosted its Alicante-Elche Airport services this summer to 71 weekly flights. The airline offers flights from all of its UK bases: Bristol, Leeds-Bradford, Manchester, Newcastle, Birmingham, London Stansted, East Midlands, Belfast, Edinburgh and Glasgow.
The airline has its main base outside the UK in the old Terminal T2 building at Alicante-Elche Airport, while its sister tour operator company, Jet2holidays, offers holiday packages at 88 hotels and five resorts throughout the Costa Blanca.
“In such a difficult time in European skies,” said Jet2.com and Jet2holidays CEO Steve Heapy, “we are pleased to say that we are not cancelling any flights due to lack of staff and we continue to receive very positive feedback from our clients and collaborators in the tourism industry. We took measures to recruit staff well in advance of recovery, with thousands of employees at our airports in the UK and Spain, as well as at resorts where we operate. We are committed to ensuring clients can enjoy their well-deserved holidays.”
The new remodelled tourist information office at Alicante-Elche Miguel Hernández Airport provides visitors with improved access and a 24-hour service.
